BALL BREAKS LINE.
This video is about understanding what happens when the ball breaks a line and why those moments become races before the defense can recover.
As soon as the line breaks the game enters what we call artificial transition.
Defenders naturally become ball-watching while reorganizing shape, and that creates a small window to attack the next dangerous space before they settle.
The key is shifting your focus away from the ball and toward the player responsible for marking you.
From there it becomes simple:
Straight.
Vertical.
Forward.
Beat your marker to the next space before they recover and now you arrive facing goal instead of reacting late to the play.
This is something you already do really well in moments.
Now it’s about recognizing it earlier and making it consistent.
